Summary

The School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences at Victoria University of Wellington is offering a 3-year PhD scholarship on earthquake processes in greywacke, New Zealand’s most common rock type.

The Marsden-funded PhD project will answer fundamental questions about how fluids affect fault strength and earthquake nucleation. Research will involve structural field geology, rock deformation experiments, and applied geophysics.

The successful applicant will hold a MSc or BSc(Hons). As a supervisor, I am committed to equity, diversity, and inclusivity.
