Funded PhD position at Victoria University of Wellington

Summary

We are seeking a PhD student for an exciting geophysics research project as part of the New Zealand government funded DeepHeat programme to improve supercritical geothermal resource exploration.  The student will join the interdisciplinary geothermal research group at Victoria University of Wellington and Earth Sciences New Zealand (formerly GNS Science).

The funded position will be based in the School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences at Victoria University of Wellington with start dates flexible after 1 June 2026.
