GSNZ memberships are due soon
Now’s a good time for a gentle reminder of the many benefits that come with a GSNZ membership. Whether you’re a researcher, a student, an academic, retired, a teacher, or just have an interest in Geoscience, membership brings a wide range of benefits.
One of the highlights is arguably the Annual (let’s forget the pandemic for now) GSNZ conference underwritten by the Society. This is the premier event in the New Zealand Geosciences calendar and we’re always pleased to be able to offer discounted registration rates all members. Student and ECR members get extra icing on the cake, in that they are eligible for support to attend the conference, and students are eligible for prizes for the best presentations.
Members also benefit through access to free downloads of selected GSNZ publications, and free access to the New Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics.
Numerous awards and grants are available to members to celebrate excellence and to support research, outreach and networking activities. We have a particular focus on supporting students, and thus by continuing to renew your membership, you too are helping to support future generations of geoscience students in New Zealand.
I think this will always remain one of my main reasons for continuing my membership.
