Geoscienst Aotearoa is looking for a new Editor
Showcase your creativity, communication skills and organisational abilities
Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your passion for Geoscience with your passion for communicating? Then consider volunteering as an/the editor for Geoscienst Aotearoa, the newsletter of the GSNZ. We are currently on the hunt for a new Editor (or Editors), following the recent resignation of our previous Editor, Janis Russell, due to family commitments.
This could be a great opportunity to showcase your creativity, communication skills and organisational abilities.
The Editor’s role involves organising the production of three editions of the newsletter each year (March, July & November). The newsletter is published in both electronic copy and hard copy format. Key tasks for the Editor include:
- Receiving submissions from members, and corresponding with submitters where necessary
- Preparing an Editor’s column
- Formatting the content into the newsletter layout
- Arranging printing of the hard copies
The Editor has the freedom to solicit content, produce their own articles, and set themes for editions of Geoscientist Aotearoa. The National Committee also welcomes suggestions from the Editor for other initiatives concerning the newsletter.
If you are interested in taking on the role of the newsletter Editor (or just being involved in its production in some way), please contact Kat Holt, GSNZ President for an initial discussion.
