The UK Geoscience Strategic Alliance was initiated in 2024 to address unmet demand for geology graduates. Interested parties from across the UK geoscience sector will work cooperatively and collaboratively to change negative perceptions, create influence, and establish widespread understanding of geoscience as a key component of UK society and economy.
Professor Sian Davies-Vollum is an international environmental geoscience researcher based at the University of Northampton. An academic leader with twenty-five years of international experience in Higher Education, Sian is Chair of University Geoscience UK (UGUK), a trustee of the Geological Society, and founding member of the UK Geoscience Strategic Alliance steering group. Sian will share how the Alliance became established, provide an update on where things are at, and offer tips for those who may be keen to establish or participate in a similar group here in Aotearoa New Zealand.
This webinar will be hosted on Zoom. Registration is required to attend (name & email). An access link will be emailed to you after you have registered.
