Geology of Karioi Volcano by Oliver McLeod, Waikato Regional Council
The ancient maunga Karioi (756 m) sits cloaked in bush on the rugged west coast of Aotearoa, New Zealand. Slowly chiselled by waves since during each interglacial, this eroded volcanic landscape contains an unparalleled geological record of lava flows, ash falls, cone growth and collapse events from throughout the life of a stratovolcano.
Oliver will have copies of his map and book for sale on the evening (cash and bank transfer only).
