International Geoethics Day

The theme for this year is "valuing geosciences for the public good".

If you are you based in Christchurch, Matthew Hughes (Geoethics SIG convenor and National Coordinator of IAPG-NZ) is planning a picnic lunch at the Coronation Hill Scenic Reserve in the Port Hills, with its spectacular views of the harbour and loess-mantled volcanic landscapes.

If you'd like to organise an event in your area or to join Matthew please contact him on geoethics@gsnz.org.nz

Established in 2017 by the International Association for Promoting Geoethics (IAPG) he aim of the International Geoethics Day is to raise the awareness of the geoscience community and society as a whole about the importance of ethical, social and cultural aspects of geoscience knowledge, research, practice, education and communication.
