GSNZ SIG webinar - PALEOTalk
Should there be a code of ethics for fossil collecting in Aotearoa?
The Geoscience Society of New Zealand is considering adding a new section to its code of ethics that will focus on the collection and storage of fossils. And it would be great to hear your thoughts.
This session will be an opportunity to discuss these questions:
- Should the Geoscience Society of New Zealand have a code of ethics for collecting and storing fossils?
- What is the main challenge in implementing a code of ethics for fossil collection and storage, and how can that challenge be addressed?
- Should the Geoscience Society of New Zealand promote guidelines to the public around collecting and storing fossils in Aotearoa?
- What is the main challenge in promoting fossil collection and storage guidelines to the public, and how can that challenge be addressed?
The Zoom link will be sent to all members of the Paleontology Special Interest Group.
The Zoom link is also available to all GSNZ members by contacting the Paleontology Special Interest Group convener (paleontology@gsnz.org.nz).
