The asteroid that saved us from the dinosaurs with Chris Hollis

Chris will review the evidence for the mass extinction at the Cretaceous/Paleogene (K/Pg) boundary being caused by the impact of a giant meteorite. He will touch briefly on survivorship patterns for reptiles and mammals before outlining the role that New Zealand sections have played in development of the asteroid impact theory, including a recently published study on the global reach of the tsunami generated by the impact.

The Zoom link will be sent to all members of the Paleontology Special Interest Group.
